  • Final FACE IT project meeting and conference will take place in Iasi, Romania from 2-5th July. Our project will be delivering two different workshops and taking part in questions and answer session about the projects work. Visit www.faceitproject.org for more information.
  • 37 programmes were delivered using 21 programme types in 25 venues, since January. Working in partnership with other service providers and government departments has meant we were able to provide a better service for those attending our programmes.
  • 20 Family Learning tutors from around Ireland were trained in May. The sun shone for us and a lot of our group work was done outdoors!!
  • Interim report on Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools (DEIS) as part of a pilot project was completed for the Department of Education and Science. This pilot has been hugely successful and we have reached parents least likely to engage with lifelong learning, through working with the school teachers. We are planning programmes at present for autumn term.
  • Very successful Games, Gadgets and Machines with Dads and Lads in two locations. Word of mouth spread the interest into the school, parents supported the delivery one hour per week with the children.
  • We had a number of visitors to our project some from as far away as Estonia, Dublin, and Limerick.
  • Developed a range of promotional material for conferences and training posters and fliers. A lot of promotional work was done in schools, at events, and with interdisciplinary teams in social service centres.
  • Our project delivered workshops at one international and two national events in Galway and Dublin in June.
  • Three in-service trainings for our Family Learning Tutors took place during the last three months on Storybags, Settling into 2nd level and an Update on current family learning trends.
  • The project would like to welcome the new part-time tutors on board this term, we certainly have a wonderful variety of skills amongst our 18 part-time staff!
  • We would like to sincerely thank work experience student Elizabeth Ode from Limerick Institute of Technology, who supported our work over a six week period in a variety of family learning programmes.
  • Look up www.clarefamilylearning.org for more information on what we do!
