New ideas for Family Learning
New ideas from NIACE Conference in Sheffield January 2009:
- Cultural box created as a group project, swap with a group in other contrasting location e.g. urban /rural. Box contains artefacts, photos, research about their community- music, sport, art, geography, history, foods, entertainment etc.
Email dialogue/visits can be set up between groups.
- Every object tells a story. Use one object from home or community and write or record story individually.
- Using family stories to create family learning materials, e.g. using old photos.
- Make an individual mini museum using a shoe box, name your collection, decorate box, label and display
